University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Distribution

The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Distribution project was a two-phased project that encompassed electrical distribution improvements for the entire campus. This included the removal of the existing sectionalized cabinet which was replaced with new pad-mount medium voltage cabinet switches, transformers, and underground distribution cables.

Phase 1 included getting the complete campus distribution system from 4,160V to 12,470V. The project involved over 30,000 ft. of wire, fiber, a six-foot retaining wall, 10,000 ft. of trenching, and the replacement of two switchgears and seven transformers.
