Building Information Modeling (BIM) – Virtual Design (VDC)

MEI has modeled over $750 million worth of electrical and technology designs on over 125 large projects. WBIM Picture 3e have developed a highly skilled and motivated team of modelers and designers who use cutting edge technology such as the latest versions of Revit, NavisWorks Manage, Sketch-up, and AutoCAD. Our group thrives in a collaborative team environment and takes pride in successfully modeling, coordinating, and delivering detailed and accurate information to our field through this Integrated Project Delivery.

MEI has incredible experience modeling complex facilities and works seamlessly with the design and construction team to solve challenging design and coordination issues. Prefabrication components are built into our models to further increase our labor productivity and quality. BIM drawings are uploaded to BIM Picture 4
robotic total stations for fast and precise layouts.

BIM/VDC to the 6th Degree:

On our complex projects that require major coordination between trades, we create detailed field installation drawings based on the fully coordinated BIM model. We add 2D details, elevations, and dimensions as needed for our electricians in order to achieve the most efficient and highest quality installation. MEI uses 4D BIM to illustrate phasing plans and project scheduling. Our estimating software integrates with our electronic drawings to automaticallyBALLROOM
count devices and reconcile design revisions for timely estimates. We also take BIM to the 6th degree by incorporating the shop drawings, product data sheets,
O & M manuals, and warranty information into our model database. This information is turned over to the Owner for on-going operations, maintenance, and future modifications to the facility.arrow2
